January
Friday Forum -
The Baker
County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be able
to offer the Friday Forum on the second
Friday of each month. The
Forum is an informative, enjoyable venue for
our community to learn more about the things that are happening
in Baker County.
Tom Fisk,
Bake City Public Works Department Supervisor, will
address the Friday Forum on January 13th
at 11:30 am at the Sunridge.
Tom
is supervisor for the Street Department,
one of the six sub-departments in the Public
Works Department (Water, Wastewater,
Parks, Cemetery, Technical Services,
and Street). He has worked for Baker
City in the Public Works Department
for 11 years, and as Department Supervisor
since 1997.
Although the
Street Department covers all types
of maintenance (and even some construction) for over 67
miles of city streets, including signs, storm
drains and shoulders, Tom's
topic will be centered on SNOW. He
will discuss the different problems encountered in clearing
snow from city streets and possible ways to improve the
process. Tom will explain
the priorities the city uses in deciding when and which
streets are plowed, the intersections that they salt, and
where they sand and why.
Come out
to the Sunridge on Friday, January 13th at 11:30am
for the Friday Forum, and learn
more about the excellent service our city street department
proveds for us when the Eastern Oregon snow flies!!
If
you would like to notify the chamber about the luncheon
